What happens if you delete icloud from iphone. iCloud: what is it and what is it eaten with? How to connect iCloud on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Windows computers

Greetings! The other day, in order to write one of the articles and prepare screenshots for it, I needed to log out of my iCloud account on my iPhone. It's just more convenient - there is no need to overwrite your personal information and adjust images. Since I sometimes perform such an operation several times a day, I went in the usual way to “Settings - iCloud - Sign out”, entered the password (correct!) And here a surprise awaited me - I can’t get out!

The iPhone happily gave me a window with the following content - “iCloud account deletion failed. There was a problem unregistering this iPhone from iCloud. Try deleting your account again." Naturally, I tried to do this operation again, and then again and again ... In the general attempt on the 11th, I got tired of it.

Really, how much can you do?

I thought: “Apparently, the Find My iPhone function is to blame - this is the root of all problems!”. And got to turn it off. The result was such an alert - “Failed to turn off Find iPhone. There was a problem when canceling the registration ... " Everything is the same as in the previous paragraph, only the title is different.

And given that this situation coincided with the iPhone update, I thought that perhaps this was some kind of “glitch” of the firmware and it simply did not install correctly. And so it would be nice. Fortunately, all my data is safely stored in .

It was useful to reset the settings and ... right! "Erase iPhone failed. There was a problem unenrolling from iCloud, please try to erase this iPhone again."

Some kind of nonsense, then constantly, now some kind of "problem when deregistering iPhone in iCloud" prevents me from exiting it, turning off "find my iPhone", doing a factory reset.

It became interesting and I climbed to look for the reason. Judging by the Russian-language Internet, only one person faced such a scourge. And then, on one of the well-known forums, his question simply went unnoticed :)

But overseas friends are familiar with this situation firsthand, it was they who suggested all the ways to deal with this mistake. Here's what you can do to still remove iCloud from iPhone and defeat the crash:

  1. First of all - Apple, it is quite possible that all this is a consequence of problems on the side of the apple corporation and here you will do nothing. It remains only to wait.
  2. Be sure to check if your iPhone has an internet connection. A trifle, but anything can happen ...
  3. Disable passcode on device. The one that is set to lock screen. You can do this by going to "Settings - Touch ID and password". Turn off the passcode and try signing out of iCloud again.
  4. Go to "Settings - iCloud" and click on the account name, enter the password, then "Change". It was at this point that I had a new license agreement with Apple, which I had to accept. After that everything worked as it should.
  5. Connect to iTunes and log in, for many, after connecting, the program asks for a password from iCloud, by entering which, it becomes possible to freely log out of the account directly from the device.
  6. Go to www.iCloud.com. There, open the settings and remove the device from the account manually. Then do a similar operation on the phone.
  7. Enter and through iTunes. The option is certainly 100% effective, but far from fast.

I agree the list is quite long. But I highly recommend trying absolutely all the options - one of them should definitely help.

The only point, before proceeding to at least software recovery, I strongly advise you to contact Apple technical support. It may well be that you can’t sign out of iCloud on your iPhone or iPad due to some problems with the Apple ID account itself. Check with them for this information.

P.S. As you can see, in order to fix iCloud deletion failure and still exit it, you will have to try. But the main thing is that these methods help and work!

It is perhaps difficult to find the owner of an iOS device who does not use iCloud (iCloud). And all because this service not only allows you to back up information and synchronize content between devices, but also provides a kind of protection against theft.

However, if you want to sell your "apple", then you simply have to log out of your iCloud account, otherwise the first update will end very sadly for the new user - he will lose access to the device.

In this article, we will tell you how to log out of a cloud account and what to do if you do not remember or do not know the password to log out. In addition, we will explain how iCloud anti-theft protection works and why the new owner will not be able to use the iOS device if the account is not reset.

To begin with, let's consider the simplest situation - you need to delete your account, and you know its password.

In this case, if the device is updated to iOS 10.3 (or later version of the platform):

If there are earlier versions of iOS on board the gadget:

That's all! As you can see, deleting iCloud when you know the cherished code is very simple.

What to do if the password is forgotten?

If you find it difficult to specify a password, then there may be an option - either you forgot it, or you don’t know it at all. First, we will analyze the decoupling from iCloud in the first situation, since it is simpler.

So, the device belongs to you, you created the account, but, unfortunately, you forgot the password. No problem. You use your Apple ID and password to sign in to iCloud. The default Apple ID login is the email address through which the unique iOS user ID was activated. Through this box, you can reset the password.

To check out this procedure:

Ready! Now the password for the Apple ID, and hence iCloud, is known, but how to untie the account, knowing the password, we have already described in the first two instructions of this article.

What to do if you don't know the password?

And, finally, the saddest situation is that you not only forgot your password, but you don’t know it. In this case, people who bought the device from the hands of a user who has not logged out of their account get there.

How does iCloud theft protection work?

Above, we have already said that iCloud is not just cloud storage, the service also allows you to protect your iOS device from theft. The fact is that when you specify an account in the cloud menu, the “Find iPhone / iPad / iPod” option and Activation Lock are activated. If the user loses the device or it is stolen, he will be able to log into iCloud.com using his Apple ID and activate the lost mode through the “Find ...” menu. When you turn on the mode, the device will be blocked, and a message from the owner will be on the screen, in which you can ask to return the device for a fee and indicate your contacts.

If an attacker tries to restore the gadget through iTunes, then the program, of course, will not resist - it will restore the device, but after completing this procedure it will “throw out” the activation screen asking you to enter your Apple ID login and password - this is how activation lock works.

Everything seems to be smooth and fine, but the option has two features - even if the lost mode is not enabled, but the “Find ...” option is enabled, the activation lock will work, this time. And the activation screen will appear not only after recovery, but also after resetting the data and updating the device, these are two.

Do you understand what this means? The fact that if you buy a used device on which the “Find ...” option has not been disabled, but it turns off when you exit iCloud (you can also disable it separately, but here, again, you will need a password) and without suspecting a catch, update the gadget, you will stumble upon an activation screen requiring you to provide the login and password of the previous user.

Is it possible to sign out of iCloud without knowing the password?

There is no official answer to the question - how to remove iCloud without knowing the password. Thus, the best solution is to try to find out the secret code. How can I do that? First, contact the former owner - if you still have his contacts - and ask for help. By the way, if the seller claims to have forgotten the password, you can tell him that there is a very simple way to remember it, and you already know this method from this article.

If there is no way to contact the seller, or he refused to help, there is another option - contact Apple Support. The company will meet you halfway if you have a payment document for the purchase of the device and / or a box from it. Do you have any of this?

Well, then you are in a very depressing situation. In general, now there are quite a few offices that promise to unbind without a password, but their activities are not entirely legal, because not only users who honestly bought the device turn to them, but also scammers with stolen devices. So we will not advise a specific organization, especially since they disappear as quickly as they appear. And yet, you can try your luck and find a "specialist" to help.

And finally, one more thing - you can try to look for tips yourself on thematic forums or some videos on Youtube on how you can log out of your iCloud account without a password. For the most part, they are only called promisingly, but there is little sense from them. However, again, in a hopeless situation, it’s a sin not to try your luck.

Let's summarize

So, now you know how to delete your account from iCloud and why it is so necessary to do this before selling. I hope you will be conscious and remember to take this most important step. Well, we advise buyers to be careful and always check whether the exit from the cloud is completed when purchasing a used iOS device.

The iCloud service makes it possible to synchronize important data for the user on several Apple devices, and also helps to find the gadget in case of loss. But sometimes you need to urgently unlink your iPhone, iPad, or iPod from iCloud.

Why unlink an Apple device from iCloud

Unbinding or deauthorizing an iPhone, iPad or iPod is needed if you want to sell or donate a gadget. If you do not disconnect the device from iCloud, then the new owner will not be able to activate it - the lock will work. In the iStore service center, the operation of disconnecting from iCloud costs a lot of money, so before selling or giving away an iPhone, iPad or iPod, it is advisable to untie the gadget from your Apple iCloud account.

Ways to "unlink" iPhone, iPad and iPod from iCloud

There are several standard ways to disconnect an Apple device from iCloud.

"Detachment" from the computer

Follow the steps below.

  1. Put your device in airplane mode or turn it off. The airplane mode function is available in the main settings.
  2. Go to icloud.com and then to the service with your Apple ID.
  3. You will be taken to your iCloud desktop. Launch the Find My Device web application.
  4. Confirm authorization if necessary.
  5. Click on the "All devices" icon and select the device you want to unpair, for example, iPhone.
  6. Confirm the deletion of the selected Apple device (click Remove).

"Detach" from iCloud directly from the deauthorized device

Remove device from iCloud via iTunes

The steps you need to complete with this option on both MacOS and Windows computers are similar.

  1. Launch iTunes and sign in to iCloud.
  2. Go to the iTunes Store section, scroll to the bottom of the AppStore tab, and go to your iCloud account settings.
  3. Enter the "Device Management" section.
  4. Select "Delete" and then click the "Done" button to exit the settings for active Apple devices.

How to check if an Apple device has been deauthorized

Activation Lock is a serious problem, without which the new owner of the iPhone, iPad or iPod will not be able to use the device normally.

If you are buying a used gadget, then ask the seller to do the following:

  • deauthorize the device in the iTunes Store, AppStore and iCloud;
  • disable the tracking function "Find my device" on the device;
  • reset the device and clear user data.

You will have to follow the same steps if you are selling or gifting an Apple device. After that, the activation lock will be completely removed, and the device can be transferred to another person.

Other ways to deauthorize Apple devices

Other ways to "unlink" an iPhone, iPad, or iPod from iCloud are not entirely legal. For example, if the device is lost, and the person who found it, instead of returning it to its previous owner, activated the gadget using “gray” methods, they can be held liable for fraud. In addition, hacking tools for Apple devices (computer programs that exploit iOS vulnerabilities) usually do not last long, because Apple fixes these vulnerabilities with each subsequent iOS update. So it is better not to resort to such means.

Having followed exactly all the steps to “untie” an iPhone, iPad or iPod strictly according to the instructions above, you can easily sell or donate the gadget to another person.

Greetings! Today's article is from the series "every owner of an Apple smartphone should know this." I would even say, I just have to. Why? Because being able to correctly change your Apple ID or iCloud account on your iPhone can be useful to you almost always. And even if you don’t need it now, then someday you will need it ... Believe me, my little personal experience. Believe me, believe me, it will not be superfluous! :)

In general, as a rule, for the time being, the user does not even think about this operation. Does the smartphone work? Works! Are there any problems? It seems not! Then why bother with any settings at all? But nothing lasts forever and a variety of things can happen. Which? Lots of examples.

  • Sale of the device.
  • Buying a new or not new gadget.
  • Someone became aware of your Apple ID, password, iCloud - a sure way to protect yourself is to completely change your account.
  • Just start iPhone life from scratch :)

In general, it is clear that the right thing to do. So let's learn how to completely log out of the Apple ID and iCloud accounts linked to the iPhone, and log in with new data. Forward!:)

Important! It must be understood that for those people who for some reason do not know (do not remember) the password and login of the identifier, this method will not work, they should do it.

How to change iCloud on iPhone

Since iCloud is a more important account (here is the Find My iPhone function, etc.), let's start with it. Briefly on points:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. We are looking for the iCloud menu item and go to it.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and see the line "Exit".
  4. We press and meet the first warning: "If you sign out of your account, all Photos Stream and iCloud Drive photos stored in iCloud will be deleted from this iPhone." What does it mean? This means that when you change your iCloud account, the above data associated with it will be deleted from the iPhone. No need to worry, they will remain in the "cloud" itself and can be accessed from the site www.icloud.com. We agree with this.
  5. A second warning pops up - "All iCloud notes will be deleted from the iPhone." Relevant for those who used the notes app and with cloud storage, computer, etc. Again, you need to understand that they are not deleted entirely, access to them will remain using the site.
  6. Another question is "What do you want to do with calendars, Safari data, contacts and reminders?" I choose to leave on this iPhone. In which case, you can remove them yourself later.
  7. We are prompted to enter a password from iCloud - we do it. That's it, we've signed out of the account on this iPhone.
  8. We enter new data - iCloud is changed.

2 ways to change Apple ID

Now you can change the second identifier on the iPhone - Apple ID. There are two ways here:

  • In the case when you have already logged out of iCloud (how to do this is written above), then you can simply and then it will be completely new and clean “like from the factory”. Naturally, there will be no information left on it! Next, just an Apple ID account and specify it straight.
  • Or change Apple ID through the menu. What is convenient, in this case, all games, applications, music, ringtones, etc. will remain on the device. downloaded using the previous account.

How to do it?

As you can see, all manipulations take place exclusively in the settings and do not take much time.

Despite the fact that I tried to describe in as much detail as possible the process of replacing accounts on the iPhone, it may well be that something remained incomprehensible. Maybe? Certainly! Therefore, do not be shy and write your questions in the comments - I will try to answer everyone.

P.S.S. Okay, you can do it without "likes" - I'm just kidding :) Although, frankly, I would be very pleased to see such activity from you. Thank you!

Nothing complicated, but it will take a little attention.

Signing out of your iCloud account is the first thing to do before selling an Apple device, going to a service center, or creating a new account. If you follow all the instructions correctly, you will not lose personal data and other important information. Today we are going to figure out how to sign out of iCloud on iPhone, any other iOS device, and on Mac.

What to do first

Before signing out of your account, make sure that all data from your device is synced to the cloud. In this case, you will not lose your notes, photos, reminders, and other iCloud data and can use them on another iOS device or Mac.

Open the menu "Settings", tap your photo and name at the top of the screen and go to the tab iCloud. If the synchronization of the desired functions is enabled, everything is in order. When you log out of your account, your personal data will remain intact.

On a Mac, open the menu "System Preferences" - iCloud and choose what to sync. Wait until all the data is pulled up to the cloud.

Another way to check is to sign in to your account via browser and manually open Photos, Notes, and other web apps to see if they have the latest data from the device you want.

How to sign out of iCloud on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

To log out of your account, open the menu "Settings", click on your photo and name, and then find the option "Go out". The system will ask you to enter your iCloud account password to disable the feature "Find iPhone". Do it and click "Off".

After disabling the function, you will need to choose what information to leave on the device: calendars, contacts, reminders, or Safari data. In most cases, it is better to turn off all options - the new owner or service center does not need this data.

When you have made your choice, click again. "Go out" and confirm that you are ready to wait a few minutes while the personal information is deleted.
